let me capture the love and the light that make your everyday moments shine.

Every portrait session begins with a fun and easy planning consultation. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about your vision, and create something that feels authentic and uniquely yours. Sessions are usually held outdoors, but they can also take place at your home, in your garden, or at any location that means something special to you.

Most sessions happen close to sunset, when the light is soft, golden, and perfect for photos. I typically start shooting about one and a half to two hours before sunset to capture that beautiful glow. I’m happy to travel to your favorite location, and if your dog is part of the story, they are always more than welcome to join.

I. Book the date.

Get in touch!

Contact me and let me know what type of portrait session you are interested in. I photograph proposals, engagements, family, maternity, branding, and individual portraits.

Booking is simple. To secure your preferred date, you will sign the contract and complete the session payment. Once your booking is confirmed, we will plan the details together, including location, timing, and any special ideas for your session.

II. Session Day

Choose a location that you love and that will work beautifully for photos. Whether it’s the mountains, a forest, or right in your neighborhood, the most important thing is that it feels like you. I can also suggest locations that photograph especially well.

I will make the experience as easy and comfortable as possible and help you relax in front of the lens. That said, it is a collaborative process. I encourage you to engage with me, and most importantly, with each other.

III. Delivery

Within 2–3 weeks after the shoot, you will receive a link to your private online gallery. From there, you will be able to view, download, and share your photos easily with your friends and family.

FAQ

HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH?

You can email me on carolinacarusostudio@gmail.com or via the contact page. I will respond to all inquiries within 24 hours. If you don’t receive a response your message may have gone into your spam folder

CAN WE SETUP A MEETING?

To make things easier for all my clients, I currently only schedule video chat consultations for all initial meetings on weekdays only. I understand life & work can get hectic and I find this is the easiest, stress-free way to get to know my clients prior to booking – I'll guide you through the process, discuss your requirements, and find a convenient date and time for your session.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

I like to shoot at place that means something to you but I can also suggest places if you are happy to go with my ideas. What parts of town do you like to visit? Are you a nature person or an urban person? Which style of photography do you prefer, lots of trees and nature, or lots of buildings and that sort of thing? Is there a part of the city where you go frequently on dates, where you went for your first date, where the proposal took place? All of these can be fun locations for a shoot. The choice is up to you!

Can we change locations

We can change the location as often as you want, as long as we stay within a reasonable time frame. Travel time between locations and outfit change is counted against your package time.

In a 2-hour session, we can usually do 2 locations depending on how spread out they are.

IS THERE A BEST TIME OF THE DAY FOR DOING THE COUPLE SESSION
Yes! Because photography is all about how the light is falling on you, certain types of light are better. The warm, late afternoon light is best, as it gives you a radiant glow. A few hours before, and right up until, sunset is the ideal time to take photographs – however this is also the time many people wish to have their reception – so we’ll work within your time allowances. The worst time of day is late morning to mid-afternoon, as the high sun tends to cast harsh shadows.
Can I reschedule the session to another day for personal reasons?

If you need to reschedule for personal reasons unrelated to the weather (new travel dates to Switzerland, illness, missed flights or trains, travel planning, etc.) you can do it at no cost, notifying two weeks in advance of the scheduled date.

If you notify with less than 15 days, you can still reschedule, but you will have to add a fee of CHF 30 since I will have rejected other works and it will be very difficult to fill that gap with so little advance.

If you notify with less than 7 days, you can still reschedule, but you will have to add a fee of CHF 50

In the event that the session is rescheduled for the second time for reasons unrelated to weather, the fee would be CHF 60.

What to do if the forecast predicts rainy weather

In this case we can go two ways:

We can reschedule the photoshoot to another day or time if the weather doesn’t allow it to be done on the scheduled date (rains, snowfalls or strong storms). If the day is just cloudy, the sessions will go ahead (also, I love shooting on cloudy days, the light is even better than sunny days).

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T SHOW UP ON THE DAY OF THE PHOTO SESSION

If you no call no show, you are forfeiting your booking fee. Please be mindful that when I block a time spot for you, I am holding that spot for only you. Therefore, I am not able to schedule someone else.

DO YOU OFFER HAIR AND MAKEUP SERVICES?
Unfortunately no, but I can recommend a few talented makeup and hair stylists that I love to work with.
DO YOU PROVIDE VIDEOGRAPHY?
I currently do not provide videography services but I have a great list of wonderful videographers in the area.
WHAT’S THE TURNAROUND TIME?

Depending on the time of the year, your images will be with you in about 2-3 weeks during high season. I work as fast as I can to have your photos ready as quickly as I can.

WHAT KIND OF RETOUCHING DO YOU DO?
I will make adjustments by hand to fine-tune contrast, color, sharpness and cropping on every photo you receive. I will also make subtle lighting adjustments (“burning/dodging” in darkroom terms) to emphasize the composition of some photos. These adjustments are done at my discretion as I process the photos.
CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUY PRINTS?
Yes, you will have an online gallery with a password which you can give out to your friends and family.
WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH COPYRIGHT?
As the photographer, I own the copyright to the images I take. That’s just how the law works. But don’t worry – the images you receive are yours. You will receive high resolution edited files and you can print them or share them however you see fit.

Just don’t edit them and please don’t use them for commercial use without checking with me first. If any of your fabulous suppliers want to use my images on social media, they need to drop me a line and I will provide them with the images they need. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever said no – but I do like to keep track of where my work is going and I never like to see it subjected to IG filters.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I use Canon professional camera’s and lenses and I always carry back up equipment too – just in case! Fortunately I’ve never had to use it!
